Our Program
"Education is the cultivation of wisdom and virtue through the study of the True, the Good, and the Beautiful, in order to develop fully formed human beings."
- Martin Cothran

Mission
Via's mission is to support moms as they educate their children at home - by creating a space for fellowship with other moms walking the same path with the end goal of fully formed human beings. Together, we disciple our children in the True, the Good, and the Beautiful, as the Holy Spirit continues forming our own hearts and minds.
Vision
We live our mission each week in three simple parts:
1. We begin with Vinea, our time of fellowship as mothers. We explore God’s Word and have a monthly book we read together.
2. Next comes Latin, where we train the mind and tongue in the disciplines of language - learning exactitude, eloquence, and perseverance.
3. Last, but not least, we have speech and debate, teaching our children to speak the truth clearly, humbly, and with courage.

Philosophy
Education is a form of discipleship. It shapes what we love, how we think, and who we become. At Via, we walk in the classical tradition because it slows us down enough to pursue what lasts: truth, beauty, and goodness.
We believe in a way of learning that is both rigorous and restful, a rhythm of study called scholé, where mastery grows through contemplation, not hurry. We take our time with each subject, allowing space to sit with truth and let it shape us.
We begin with Christ because all learning takes its meaning from Him. He is the Word at the center of language, the Wisdom at the heart of philosophy, and the Truth all worthy questions are searching for. Every classroom, every conversation, is a place where we seek to grow in likeness to Him.
Latin trains the mind and tongue to be exact and persistent. Great books feed the imagination and awaken the conscience. Speech and debate cultivate eloquence, humility, and courage. These are tools by which souls are formed.
What is Via?
A fellowship of homeschoolers who meet on Tuesday mornings for fellowship, Latin, and speech and debate.
What ages do we serve?
Our current offerings are for upper junior high/high school ages, 13-18.
What classes do we offer?
What are the costs and commitments?
We strive to make this a true cooperative, where costs are low, but participation is high, so this is a free co-op. Additional fees to consider may include the purchase of books and personal materials. You are also responsible for your membership with Stoa to be eligible to compete in tournaments, their annual membership fee is $100. There may also be some additional costs as the year progresses for various activities that you have the option to participate in (e.g. for field trips, registration for speech and debate tournaments, etc.).
Moms are required to be physically present during all three classes, and volunteer in a variety ways.
